The Old West HARPG is mainly a horse-art game. Though primarily based upon horses, riders, and their stables, you can also include and/or breed livestock and domestic animals alongside your horses such as dogs, cattle, sheep etc. Ultimately when it comes to breeding we follow the breeding rules set down by the animal's owners. Note that this is not a breed group and we will not be enforcing Ids on animals or breeding rules, genetics, ect. This is an ART-ROLEPLAY-GROUP focused on stable-story telling, Western Events, and overall fun!

Stable Requirements;;
Because this group is based in the old west of North America, you should have a location, facilities, rented barn, or staff member that represents your stables if you're not a resident of the USA. In your 'Stable Journal' that is usually required of most HARPG groups, (the one that has all your stables information including staff, horses, locations, ect), thumb this group into that journal and list your staff members and horses with it. Once completed, submit your journal in the 'Registered Stables' gallery folder, and you're done! Your stables is now a member of this group!
Registering Horses, Riders, and Livestock;;
If you don't want your own stables in the USA, you can ask a registered member to house your Horse & Rider. This is not compulsory, and only needs to be done if you do not want your own property, but require somewhere to stay. Your horse & rider can roam the old west as they please. You must make a clear, up to date reference which can be either written or drawn. Once each reference, (both your horses AND YOUR RIDER), is completed you may submit the references to their correct gallery folder. The only requirement we ask is you put the groups thumb into the reference somewhere and you make mention as to who rides which horse if you have multiple horses and riders submitted. To submit livestock, simply submit the creatures design/reference to the correct folder. ANY type of horse, rider, or livestock is allowed though we prefer they be REALISTIC breeds or realistic looking, (such as a non-mutation). But this is not a rule and we will not turn away the unique.
PLEASE NOTE;;
You may drawn/role-play within the OLD WEST story-line, or the preferred and updated modern day story-line where stables dress and act the part of the old west rather than actually live it from back in those times. If you have been booted from the group during the 2014 revamp, you're more than welcome to return and advertise for the group to get your friends and affiliates involved!!
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, we would love if you COMMENTED down below and we will answer by updating the journal so all may see the question/answer!!

New Founder, Time for Some Updates?
Hello everyone! I'm RoseThornStables (https://www.deviantart.com/rosethornstables)/KwehCat (https://www.deviantart.com/kwehcat), and I am the new founder of the group! I've been a part of this group for 2 or more years now, and I'm excited to get this group back up and running! I would, however, like to get some input from the members on what you all would like to see happen!
Here are some of my thoughts:
:thumb210374532: New avatar and front page design.
:thumb210374532: Do we need/ want a mascot?
:thumb210374532: Revamp the revamped rules. I want this group to be fun and turn into one awesome little community!
:thumb210374532: Get rid of the "modern" timeline. There are plenty of places to do so
looking for new founder!!
hello everyone, not many know this but i joined this group as a simple member, and then one day i looked over and i was founder, while i don't mind being this, i really have no idea about anything with the group, so i hear by ask...

This group sounded like a lot of fun and I was thinking of joining but while I was reading the registering horses,rider and livestock I noted that it said realistic looking breed and I know it says after that its not a rule.
However I wanted to make sure if my breed would be allowed.
Their coloring is a lot like a horses this is it here
